The host family | Our history

A house with a history

At the beginning it was a guest house. The “Lammwirt” was mentioned in writing for the first time at the beginning of the 17th century. The house has many stories of days gone by to tell: of travellers, an emperor and many other famous people who made a stop in Monguelfo.

The foundation for the history of our hotel today was laid in 1923: the ownership of the traditional “Prünstlerhof – Lammwirt” was transferred to Josef Heiss. Born in the Sarntal Alps, he married the spirited Kreszenz from Val Pusteria. Then they moved together to Monguelfo, where they made the inn well known.

In the 1950s, Marianna, Berta and Josef (Peppi) took over the inn from their parents. In 1950, Berta opened the very first pastry shop in the entire Val Pusteria, the Heiss-Café, where Marianna pampered guests with delicious pies and cakes.

Elisabeth also helped out at the pastry shop, and married Peppi Heiss in 1960. With their three daughters Lisbeth, Ingeborg and Evi, the inn was passed to the third generation.

Be our guest … and feel at home.

The Weisses Lamm stands for hospitality and the South Tyrol lifestyle. We appreciate simple things. A smile that comes from the heart, loving attention that sweetens up your day. Lisbeth and Inge are the soul of the house. Together with Fabian and the entire team, they uphold this traditional promise with passion.

A happy atmosphere always prevails here. Whether young or old, active or perhaps just fully relaxed – everyone feels at home here!

I am always fascinated how I am able to work off stress and tension and recharge my batteries in nature. I love being able to pass on this passion to our guests!

Plus I enjoy helping out in the kitchen and pampering our guests with delicious homemade desserts: with our appetising offer of healthy dishes we can also mix in a few little sweet temptations… your palate should also be happy!

Tradition, caring for and nurturing nature and the beauty of the Dolomites are very close to my heart. I am very happy to share our cultural treasures with our guests, telling them about our history.
